Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

What is KAP?

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a holistic modality in which ketamine is used as a complement to psychotherapy. This supports eligible patients in experiencing more frequent breakthroughs and sustained improvement in symptoms. This practice provides the psychotherapy portion of the experience, while Journey Clinical’s medical team supports all the medical aspects. This includes determining eligibility, developing a custom treatment plan, prescribing the medicine, and monitoring outcomes.

How often and how long is treatment?

There are several modalities with KAP. Currently, this practice only utilizes Remote Standard Dosing and Psycholytic (low dose) protocols.

Standard treatment consists of 4 prep (45 mins) sessions, 6-8 dosing sessions (2-3 hours) , and 6-8 integration sessions (45 mins), where dosing and integration session alternate weekly.

Psycholytic Standard treatment consists of 4 prep (45 mins) sessions, 6-8 dosing sessions (1-1.5 hours) , and 6-8 integration sessions (45 mins), where dosing and integration session alternate weekly.

How much does KAP Treatment Costs?

This practice is committed to reducing financial barriers to treatment, where we offer various payment options. Since each person's situation can differ, there are things you may need to consider.

First, this practice covers only prep, dosing and intergration sessions. This is where your fees will be applied. The medical portion is a separate cost, which is through Journey Clinical.

Secondly, do you have insurance, and is this practice in-network. Certain portions of KAP treatment may be covered by your insurance; however, there is usually an out-of-pocket fee for dosing sessions since those are longer.

Finally, you may need to purchase extra items, such as an automatic blood pressure cuff, which is required for treatment. Some patients also like to set up their space to feel calm and safe. You may also want to get a journal, or art supplies.

Please reach out to discuss your situation. Once we understand what is going on, you will receive a Good Faith Estimate indicating what you would expect to pay for treatment.
